Books

Since this week there hasn't been much going on, I have decided to write about books. I love and cherish books! They can take you away from the place you are standing and pull you down their paths. My favorite book series would have to be the Twilight series(big surprise right) and i have read all four books three times. I love them and they are addicting. I finally decided that i needed to pull myself away from them and read other books so now I am reading The Lovely Bones which is also very good. It kinda gets confusing at certain points because it jumps from the past to the present in different parts but its a very good book. Next in line for me is Salem Falls by Jodi Picoult. My sister read it and said it was really good so I want to read it too. That's it for now. Hopefully i will have something better to talk about next week.

My Best Friend

Ok so since I dont really have anything to write about today I'm just going to write about the lame old subject that no one else cares about which is my best friend. Unlike most other people my best friend isnt someone I go to school with, its someone I live with. My best friend in the whole world is my sister. She is loving and caring and someone I love to spend my spare time with. Her name is Kayla Jane Gent and she is 20 years old. Personality wise she is sarcastic and any random person would think that she is rude but I understand her better than anyone so I know thats not the truth. I dont always get to spend that much time with my sister considering the fact that we live with two different parents but that doesnt always drive us apart. She still understands me more than anyone I know, shes the one i go to for advice, and she is the one that I can just let go of my shyness or whatever else thats holding me back and just be myself around. If anyone knows me better than I know myself it would be my sister and thats why she is my best friend. I love my sis with all my heart an d that will never change.

Love

Because its getting close to Valentines Day, I'm going to write about the B-E-A-U-tiful 4 letter word everyone is talking about. L.O.V.E. Its a beautiful word and it can be used in so many different ways. I remember in 6th grade when Mrs. Freeze taught her classes about four different types of love. I had never thought about it long enough to realize that there were different types of love for all the different people that i loved. First was Eros, which is what is most commonly meant when someone says "I'm in love". Eros is the type of love that occurs when you get that butterfly stomach feeling every time you see a certain person. Although Eros can make us feel like we are floating in the clouds, it is not a reliable basis for building a relationship. The second type of love is philia. Philia is the type of love one shares toward a friend. Along the same lines as eros, philia can not be a reliable basis for a friendship. Once a friend says or does something hurtful, the feeling can just as well evaporate. Unlike eros and philia, agape(which is my favorite because its a beautiful word and a very strong type of love) is not the type to just evaporate when something goes wrong, it is a choice of love. Agape can also exist in both cases of philia and eros. The fourth type of love is storge. Storge is the type of love one shares toward a family member. Its amazing how one small word can mean so many different things. So here goes it je t'aime, te amo, Ich liebe Dich. That's "I love you" in french, Spanish, and German!!!

Random........

Today I'm going to write about prom. Its probably what a million other girls are writing about but, just like all of the other girls, I'm very excited and i cant wait to get my dress. Of course i have already wasted time looking at dresses on the internet and finding the ones i like. The reason i said "wasted time" is because even though i have looked at them and found the one that I'm sure i want, it doesn't mean that I'm going to get it. The dress i want is probably like $400 dollars and I cant afford that. A girl can dream right? Well im sure that i will get a beautiful dress even if its not the one i really want. On top of the excitement of going to prom in May, i just got a babysitting job! It may not sound very exciting but its my first job and so I'm very happy to at least be making money. I will get paid $15 a day which isn't so bad, and i am going to save the money up for a trip this summer.
